7 Ways to Find Auto Insurance Cheap and Good

No matter who you are or where you’re from, it seems like everybody is always trying to find ways to buy insurance cheap. You can be from New York or from California, or you can be from Washington or Florida, it doesn’t matter. Everybody wants to find their auto insurance cheap and good. So what are a couple ways we can find cheap, but good insurance, and how can we buy it? There are number ways to go about it. Let me give you seven that come to mind:

Option Number One:
I think the best way to find a good cheap insurance is to ask your friends and people you know that have auto insurance already. Ask your parents, ask your relatives, ask your coworkers, ask a police officer on the corner, ask a store clerk, a banker, your teacher, a lunch lady, or even your enemies. (Well maybe not your enemies.) You can find plenty of people you know to ask, who currently have auto insurance, and if you can find auto insurance cheap and good, that is a big plus.

Option Number Two:
Searching online is a great way to find cheap insurance, especially for your car. More and more companies are going online because they notice that most of their business is coming that way. It’s just so easy to be able to get up from your couch, cross the room, turn on the computer, do a quick google search, and their you have it! Over ONE Million possibilities within seconds!

No matter where you are at in the United States of America, or whether or not you have a computer yourself, there are always ways to search online for auto insurance. Borrow a computer from your brother, sister, aunt, uncle, mom, dad, or even your brother’s best friend’s girlfriend.

Or go tot the public library! There are tons of public libraries throughout the whole United States that have free computers and internet. Or find an internet cafe. ….I think you get the idea….

Once you’re on the internet, that’s when the fun begins. I personally like to use Google to do my searching (you may have used Google to find this page!), but there is also MSN, Yahoo, Bing, Ask, AltaVista, Lycos, etc. Each of these will have will have lists and list of ways to find cheap car insurance. There are so many possibilities!

Option Number Three:
Back in the day Yellow Pages used to be a really good tool to find insurance companies and even today you can find Yellow Pages around the house somewhere I’m sure. I don’t recommend this way, because I think it is too slow, tedious, and unreliable, but hey, to each his own. With the Yellow Pages, you can go straight to the title or category “auto insurance” and flip through page after page after page of auto insurance companies all touting that they are the best, the cheapest, the closest, etc.

Then comes the tedious part! After letting your fingers do the walking in the Yellow Pages, and narrowing it down to 20 or so companies in your area, you begin dialing one by one, every single company and hear each sales pitch and feel the pressure of each auto insurance agent groveling at your feet to just “come in and meet with me.” So, who do you trust? What do you do? Where do you go? Ugh! Double Ugh UGH!! You get the picture?

What makes it a little bit harder, is that you can’t really read reviews about these companies, like you can online. The only thing you can do is trust that these companies are telling you the truth. But, it seems, these days, that everyone is a saleman, and as you call them one by one and talk to them one by one, they all tell you their stories of how good they are and how much money they save their clients, how good and fast their customer service is, and how can you trust everything they are telling you. Frustrating, huh?!

Option Number Four:
A fourth way to find auto insurance for your or someone in your family, is to let your feet do the walking or your wheels do the riding. Yes, I mean the old conventional way of walking or cruising the neighborhood and perusing the local shopping centers. You would be amazed at how many insurance agents there are around local shopping centers! AAA, State Farm, Farmers, etc. The big problem is you are probably going to pay a premium (or at least more than you need to) for their services and get the same coverage you would find elsewhere, like online.

Option Number Five:
Take the easy route and get the same agent your parents used and maybe even their parents used. You will probably pay more for it, but you’ll have a family friend for life (or at least until the agent dies, if he’s been around that long!) Again, probably not the best value for your money.

Option Number Six:
Ask your auto mechanic or collision repair expert who he or she recommends for auto insurance. Auto mechanics and especially collision repair experts work with cars all day and of course work with local and national insurance companies. They know which companies are the easiest to work with and the most reliable, possibly saving you heartache in the future. They know who has been naughty and nice. The problems with this approach is that they typically don’t know which companies will give you the best bang for the buck and sometimes auto mechanics and collision repair experts will recommend the agents they have become buddy, buddy with over time, with no regard to the actual reputation of the actual auto insurance company.

Option Number Seven:
This is probably my favorite option. Let someone else do the work for you! I like to use online companies that have you fill out a simple, quick form, and then shop out auto insurance for your to find the best and cheapest auto insurance for your territory. Just makes sense, eh? Then you have a number of insurance companies working hard for your business. Fun huh!? Then when you get to the best two or three offers, do an online search for reviews of those two or three companies, and with little work, and good returns, you strike gold! You find auto insurance cheap and good. Not a bad way to go!
